1. Product Description

KATIBA RED LINE Glass Coating is a premium, high-performance automotive glass coating developed to provide exceptional water repellency, long-lasting protection, and improved visibility in wet driving conditions.

Unlike conventional water-repellent glass treatments, RED LINE Glass Coating utilizes advanced fluorine-based and SiO₂-based hybrid coating technology.

This hybrid system combines the low surface energy of fluorinated components with the protective film-forming characteristics of silica-based chemistry.

Rather than relying on a temporary oily surface layer, the formula is designed to form a durable, water-repellent coating that adheres to the glass surface.

The formula contains no PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) silicone oil.

Instead of prioritizing an oily or slippery surface feel, this coating focuses on long-term water repellency, coating durability, and minimizing the potential for windshield wiper chatter.

Designed to deliver hydrophobic protection for up to 12 months under appropriate application and maintenance conditions.

3. Directions for Use

Step 1. Surface Preparation

Thoroughly clean the automotive glass and completely remove any existing oil film, road film, old water-repellent coatings, and other contaminants.

For best results, use a dedicated glass oil film remover before applying RED LINE Glass Coating.

Rinse and clean the glass thoroughly, then ensure the surface is completely dry and free from residue.

Proper surface preparation is essential for optimal coating adhesion and performance.

Step 2. Product Application

Apply an appropriate amount of RED LINE Glass Coating to a suede applicator.

Spread the product evenly across the glass using overlapping horizontal and vertical motions (cross-hatch application).

Ensure consistent coverage across the entire treatment area.

Step 3. Two-Stage Buffing

First, use a clean microfiber towel lightly dampened with water to remove and level the coating residue.

Immediately follow with a second, clean, dry microfiber towel to complete the final buffing process.

Continue buffing until the glass is clear and free from visible streaks, haze, or remaining residue.

4. Curing Instructions

Avoid direct water exposure for at least 24 hours after application.

During the initial curing period:

• Do not wash the vehicle.
• Avoid rain and direct water contact.
• Do not spray or rinse the coated glass with water.
• Keep the vehicle in a dry, protected location whenever possible.

Allowing the coating to cure without water exposure is important for achieving its intended performance.

5. Coating Technology

RED LINE Glass Coating features an advanced hybrid system combining two complementary technologies.

Fluorine-Based Hydrophobic Technology

Fluorinated components are used to create a low-surface-energy finish.

This makes it more difficult for water to spread across the glass surface, encouraging water droplets to bead and roll away.

PDMS-Free Design

Unlike formulations that rely on silicone oil to create a slippery surface, RED LINE Glass Coating contains no PDMS.

The formulation also aims to minimize the potential for windshield wiper chatter, although actual wiper performance may vary depending on the wiper blades, glass condition, and installation quality.

6. Important Application Notes

• Always remove existing oil film and surface contaminants before application.
• Do not apply under direct sunlight or on hot glass.
• Use a lightly dampened microfiber towel for the initial buffing process, followed immediately by a dry microfiber towel.
• Ensure all coating residue is completely removed.
• Avoid water exposure for at least 24 hours.
• Follow the SDS for safe handling, ventilation, and protective equipment requirements.
