Tornador is a German-engineered line of air-powered cleaning tools that has become a standard in professional detailing shops worldwide. The concept is simple but the results are not: connect any Tornador gun to an air compressor, load the canister with your cleaning solution, and the patented cone-shaped nozzle creates a cyclonic tornado action that blasts product deep into fabrics, carpet fibers, vents, seams, and tight interior gaps that a brush or microfiber towel physically cannot reach. Dirt and contamination are agitated out of the surface rather than pushed around it, which is what separates this tool from anything else on a detailer's shelf.
The House of Rags carries the full Tornador lineup, from entry points to professional flagship models. The Z-010 Classic is where most detailers start, delivering the full tornado cleaning action in a proven, straightforward format that handles everything from dashboard vents and door panels to upholstery and carpet. The Z-020 Black steps up with newly developed rotational technology and a built-in air regulator that lets you adjust working pressure directly on the tool, making it more effective on persistent stains and heavily soiled surfaces where the Classic may need multiple passes. The Z-030 TornadorMax is the top of the lineup, built for maximum power and volume on larger or more demanding jobs.
Beyond the cleaning guns, the lineup includes tools for every part of the process. The Z-014 Air Blow Out Tool clears dust and debris from tight spaces before any solution is applied. The Z-011 Foam Gun handles exterior foam application using the same compressed air platform. The ZV-200 Velocity Vac and ZV-240 Velocity Vac Dry combine the Tornador cleaning action with simultaneous vacuum extraction, pulling contaminated solution back out of the surface immediately after it is blasted in. The Z-007 Mini handles smaller interior spaces where a full-size gun is too large to maneuver.
Tornador tools are designed to run at a minimum of 85 PSI and require an air compressor producing at least 5 CFM for optimal performance. The Z-020 Black can work at slightly lower pressure thanks to its sealed stainless-steel bearings and pulse-increasing spring, giving it more flexibility with smaller compressors. If your compressor struggles to maintain consistent pressure during use, you will notice reduced cyclonic action and uneven spray. Most mid-range shop compressors in the 6-gallon range and above handle Tornador tools without issue.

Both tools use the same core tornado cleaning action and work across the same range of interior and exterior surfaces. The Z-020 Black uses updated rotational technology inside the nozzle to generate faster, more powerful cyclonic action, and it includes a built-in air regulator so you can fine-tune working pressure without going back to the compressor. On lightly soiled surfaces the difference is minimal, but on heavily contaminated upholstery, carpet with embedded grime, or persistent stains, the Black outperforms the Classic noticeably. If you are detailing high volume or working on neglected interiors regularly, the Black is the better investment.

The ZV-200 Velocity Vac adds simultaneous vacuum extraction to the Tornador cleaning action, meaning the tool blasts solution into the surface and pulls the loosened contamination back out in the same motion. On a standard Tornador gun, you blast the surface and then follow up with a separate vacuum or extraction tool. The Velocity Vac eliminates that second step, making it significantly faster on carpet, upholstery, and floor mats where you are dealing with high moisture and suspended dirt. The ZV-240 Velocity Vac Dry takes it further with a dry extraction mode suited for surfaces where you want to minimize moisture.

Tornador tools are safe and effective on hard surfaces including dashboards, door panels, center consoles, vents, and trim, as well as soft surfaces including fabric upholstery, carpet, floor mats, and headliners. They also handle exterior applications including fabric convertible tops, body panel seams, wheels, and emblems. On coated or treated surfaces, use your cleaning solution at the appropriate dilution and keep dwell time short. The cyclonic action itself does not damage surface treatments, but aggressive or high-alkaline chemicals can, so match your chemistry to the surface the same way you would with any other cleaning method.
